The Seeds of Greatness™

I believe that every human being contains the seeds of greatness™. This doesn’t mean that everyone will grow up to become a CEO or president. It does mean that everyone has the potential to become the best “me” possible.

When the seeds of greatness™ start to sprout, many wonderful things happen. As individuals grow, they are able to complete tasks to the best of their abilities. And that helps them grow faster and stronger. Eventually, they begin to flower and set fruit -- they start to expand their abilities and knowledge, and become better. And then, just as vegetables cross-pollinate in order to bear fruit, they look at others and see that by helping them, they can also help themselves.

Although some seeds are able to grow wherever they land, usually seeds of the most desired plants must be planted correctly and tended with loving care before they can grow and produce fruit. As a manager, you have the opportunity to provide fertile soil, water, nutrients, and other support to help your people grow. And as they grow, you also will grow. Over time, they will nourish you as you have nourished them.
